We Are Watching You is a campaign which engages communities through music and performances to create a culture of vigilance and political accountability.Our aim is to to create political accountability in Kenya by increasing citizens’ vigilance and civic participation. We reach out to citizens to raise awareness and community engagement. We also reach out to civil society leaders to encourage them to act in the interests of the community, and hold them to account.
We collaborate with Acref band to promote dialogue between tribal groups, peace and unity. Acref band has been using music and edutainment (educational entertainment) to engage the youth of Baba Dogo area of Nairobi in continuous of peace building and behaviour change through music and theater.
Our director, Ramdhan Obiero, has experience as the Coordinator for the Vumilia Youth Group, the Stage Manager for musician Eric Wainaina, the leader of the Kale Leo Band, and the Chairman of the African Cultural Research and Education Foundation. He holds a Diploma Certificate in Community Development from the Kenya Institute of Social Work and Community Development.
